You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or residence at around 9:00 a.m. and driven to Limuru, approximately one hour from the city. Upon arrival at Kiambethu Tea Farm, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your host, a member of the family that has owned the estate for generations.
Begin with an informative talk on the history of the farm and Kenya’s tea industry, followed by a guided tour of the tea fields and an introduction to the process of growing, picking, and producing tea.
After the farm tour, enjoy a guided walk through a small patch of indigenous forest where you might spot colobus monkeys and a variety of bird species. Return to the farmhouse for a three-course lunch prepared with locally sourced ingredients, accompanied by freshly brewed Kenyan tea.
After lunch, relax in the tranquil gardens overlooking the lush green tea fields. You may also take some time to explore the grounds, take photographs, or visit the small on-site shop. Later in the afternoon, you will be driven back to Nairobi, arriving in the early evening.
